New entry

Hy this is my new entry in this list
I'd like to say hello to every body and ask my first question:

I'm a Suse linux user since 6.3, using on my company in version 7.1 
and now 8.1.

Because  my passion on linux I'm trying to recover a SUN SparcStation 20
(forgotten in a "stolen store", like the arc...) and implement linux to 
manage PHP and qmail just for intranet target (Portal and mailing)

So I'd like to ask u:
- point of starting
- how i could collect information about my hw and who could support it
- is SUSE fitting nice for that scope (I think obviously yes!!)
- etc.

Links, doc, etc are welcome ... (how serc in message list digest ?)

PS: i've already read SPARK-HOWTO but it's seem to be little old
there is a new version ?
