Now I took out this incredible, unbelievable, f...., so called standard
SCSI-Controller.

Hi,

Do you have some graphic card plugged or some other non-standard 
hardware or did you replace something ?

You could try to install a rarpd and tftp server on an other computer 
and boot with the suse network boot image using boot net from the prom.
