Great! Now that sounds like a reason to try finding out how fast that 
ThinkPad T520 with Intel Core i5 Sandybridge, 8 GB of RAM and Intel SSD 
320 can compile a kernel. And what speeds I could get out of TuxOnIce. I 
wanted to try out TuxOnIce again for quite some times already...

Take care not to overwhelm yourself with todos tough. Take it easy.

I really do hope that parts of TuxOnIce could land in mainline. Do you 
consider this route? It could help shift the maintenance time and effort 
from "only" you to a couple of kernel developers in the Linux PM world. 
The one little patch series at a time approach could help getting this 
done in small pieces.
