So it looks like gcc > 3.4.3-13 (Tao 4 now at 3.4.3-22.1) should fix
this.  I've recompiled w/ current gcc and put a version-bumped build in
a new 'testing' repo.

Milan, could you please check these out and get back to me, before I
make an errata?
