According to a Red Hat kernel engineer, upgrading RHEL 3 to RHEL 4
(similar to Tao1 -> Tao4) is guaranteed to break.  It simply will not
work.  The fact that the original poster managed to make it work is pure
luck.  You should use anaconda if you're going to do an upgrade instead
of a fresh install.
