I've gotten through the part where I try to start the installer:

But although things start up OK, Tao says "You do not have enough RAM
to install Tao Linux on this machine."  On the virtual console 3
xterm, I see this:

  * modules to insert fbcon-vga-planes vga16fb
  * module(s) fbcon-vga-planes vga16fb not found
  * load module set done
  * 0 kB are available

The kernel isn't printing any hints that I can see on the virtual
console 4 xterm.  If anybody has some voodoo I can use to get the RAM
recognized, please let me know.
