OK, so at least the PCI IDs are fine.

They are picked by the driver, everything looks fine, apart from:

Indeed, and that was my reason for asking about EEPROM tampering. That 
data is read from the EEPROM; it only has an informative role, it is 
not involved in anything else apart from being printed... But maybe 
there is some other data that kudzu wants that is also corrupted. 
While I know the information stored in the EEPROM on these cards, I 
have absolutely no clue of kudzu's requirements.

Well, my idea was to actually delete any other NIC apart from eth0 
and add a new eth1. Have you tried this ?
