Congrats on obtaining some Itanic boxen to play with.  Should be an
interesting comparison between the ia64 and the x86_64 processors.  It
would be interesting to get some real performance figures from someone
with a clue.  :)

Now, if there's SFA work to be done to keep the tree in sync with the
main tree, then why not do it anyway?  There may not be a lot of Tao
ia64 users right now, but once the tree gets itself in sync (with a bit
of help from you, of course), then it gets known that Tao has an
up-to-date ia64 as well as x86_64 tree, I'm sure it would generate more
interest.
