It uses a too new pygtk version and requires a fairly recent python-rpm. 
Making it work (albeit without GUI) should be not too hard for someone who 
can code in python and Gustav is nice to work with.

smartpm can also be extended to have a Qt, ncurses or other interface, the 
source-code seems very modular and was designed for this purpose. I wish I 
had more free time (or it was part of my job description :))
