Doug, Thanks for the heads-up on mimic vs. emulate. The Belkin did resolve the issue, although it meant moving things around quite a bit here. I will purchase only mimicing KVMs from here on out, but it's a shame we have lost dependability on the cheaper KVMs that performed their duty perfectly. Just a note to others who may be vulnerable to this due to KVMs. During the move, a machine that was running kervel version 2.4.21-23 stopped working because it needed repositioned on a rack. The monitor and KVM were of the same type as what was originally on the machine, but the monitor would not sync. The quick fix was to reboot using the older kernel version 2.4.21-20 and the machine booted right up just fine. I realize this may be due to a number of factors, so I can't blame Tao, but something has changed radically in the kernel that contributes to this. Newer is not always better. I'm now afraid to upgrade any kernel that is running through a KVM. I'm not sure this could be considered a major problem or not to others, but to me it is. I will always install an older version of Tao just to have the older kernel installed so I can boot from that in the event of KVM failure until I upgrade my old hardware. Thanks for all the help from the many who responded.
