Lots of unnecessary modules loaded

Hi list!

After the new install I have lots and lots of modules loaded I will never 
use or do not see the need for.

When I look in /etc/modprobe.conf however these modules are not listed

How can I get rid of them? I tried finding it in the RHEL4 docs but didn't 
get very far.
