I'm not sure if this autoprobe works reliable.  I thought Trakker-450
and T1000e were completely different devices.

The T1000e is not supported, while Trakker-250 (and I thought 450,
too) is supported by ftape-4.x.

If you have a T1000e there's AFAIK no way to get it running (except
writing a driver). If you have a Trakker, you may check the ftape
version that comes with the Slackware kernel.  You can look in
/var/log/messages and search for ftape.  If it is 3.x you need to
upgrade.  Get one of the "unstable" driver from

The stable drivers are for Linux-2.2 so they don't work.
