Re: Colorado Trakker Parallel drive.

OK - thanks for the previous help.
Now - I've recompiled the kernel AGAIN....
This time with basic parallel support and parallel PC support built into the kernel.
I also recompiled the ftape modules and installed it.
This time the trakker and the bpkc-fdc module will load....however it's not working properly.
When I look in the /proc/parport/0/hardware   I can see that the IRQ and DMA are not assigned....
Apparently the kernel isn't able to figure those parameters out during the autoprobe at boot.
I'm fairly certain that is the reason why the trakker driver isnt' able to read me a status off the drive.

I am now recompiling my kernel AGAIN as I type with NO PARALLEL support of any kind in the kernel.
I will create an entry in /etc/modules.conf and load that module myself with the correct resource values.
This oughta make that drive work!

Thanks again for your help.....hope I've got this problem licked.....
Any thoughs, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone else gone through this before?  What a mess!
Almost makes me apprectiate that 'other' PC O/S - nah.......
