<sigh> wish we could get this FAQ up somewhere.

Forget ftape 4.04a... it has known problems with 2.4 kernels. Grab one
of the recent snapshots off the ftape webpages. I'm currently using
ftape-4.x-2002_03_21 with a 2.4.9 kernel and having good results,
although there are later ones listed.
