Hi,

The initial goal was to then extract the generation date contained in
the "file" output. I'd then have been able to send it back to the
ltsp-cluster control center so I can have an overview of the version all
my clients are running.

I'll loose that ability though what matters is to be able to know if a
client is up to date and for that the sha1sum will be enough.

So I'm fine with changing it to sha1sum.
