Won't work. The ROMs you're talking about need to get cleared under U/V
light (peel the sticker off to expose the window, leave them under a U/V
light for an hour) and then burned.
Flashing ROMs via the motherboard of a machine is *extremely* card specific.

I've never done it any other way than plug in 27c chips. There used to
be a compatibility list in one of the READMEs in etherboot. It depends
(a bit) on the card.
IIRC:
* Bigger capacity chips might need to be appended with 0xffff at the
end. So if the card wanted 16kB, and you only had 64kB chips, you'd
have to append 48kB of 0xffff at the end of the image. Etherboot's
README used to tell you how to do that.
* If you plug a physically smaller chip into a larger slot (you have 4
extra holes, but no pins), it's important that you leave the empty holes
where the little round gap in the chip is, not the other side --
otherwise it will glow red hot.
* ROM speed can be an issue, but the only cards I've ever had speed
issues with were PCI cards. ISA cards seemed to be more forgiving.
But anybody can do

Best bet these days is a circuit board designer / embedded developer.
They should still have equipment to do this (mine was stolen -- really
-- a 286 with a ROM burner -- whatcha gonna do with it?)
