Hey everyone,

Now that Ubuntu 10.04 is out, I have some time to spend on LTSP again :)

So, first thing on my list is to have the work done over the last few
months by Revolution Linux reviewed and merged.

As I mentioned it at the last hackfest, we are getting some funding from
nlnet.nl to work on LTSP and LTSP-Cluster, one of the projects was about
improving LDM.

Basically what we did is a good rework of ldm:
 - Integrated the minimal window manager from Scotty
 - Moved from a fullscreen greeter to a smaller gtk application +
wallpaper
 - Split the authentication into plugins with two already available
  - ssh (similar to current behavior)
  - rdp (same login screen as for ssh but open a RDP session)

That should make it easy to add more plugins (I'm thinking NX, x2go,
ICA, ...) and keep the UI the same for all of these.

The branch can be found here:
https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~revolution-linux/ltsp/ldm-trunk-nlnet

The code is supposed to be compatible with our existing environment
variables and should be working properly as a drop-in replacement to the
current LDM.

It'd be great to have some more people look at the code and test it
before I merge it into trunk (so it's not broken for too long ;)).

Anyway, feedback is greatly appreciated, I cced the 3 guys at RL who did
all the work on that.
