Cool.  It's too bad these tools are "distro specific" as opposed to being
"package specific".  I mean, if the X people came up with a simple tool for
adding/removing Xsession.d scripts, the PAM people came up with a way for
managing the pam.d directories, etc., we'd all be a lot better off, since the
distros could simply just leverage those "basic" tools in their own package
management (i.e. apt/RPM).

It would make porting potentially "multi-distro" apps like LTSP way easier for
devs.
