I'm not aware of any benchmarks but empirically, using compressed
swap has reduced the networked swapping while e.g. browsing
(seems like pixmaps make good part of 4x+ compression).

Didn't ask about *inclusion* but can say that *leaving it* wasn't
even discussed, the effect is quite nice.  In ALTSP5, compcache 
gets enabled if there's something like 20M RAM free or so,
basically it gets enabled on 64M+.

led@ mentioned that he'd better make counters for average
compression ratio but didn't get around so only did a second
"histogram bar". :)
