It is also possible to use a "hybrid" approach, if you can afford to buy a
cheap ethernet switch/router (even a wi-fi access point can act as an
ethernet router). You can connect the WAN port to the rest of the network,
and a LAN port to the LTSP LAN, and it can provide DHCP configuration for
the classroom LAN and be a gateway for it. Then the LTSP server can just be
a proxy-DHCP, which has a simpler configuration. The switch/router isolates
the LTSP LAN from the rest of the network.
