Ubuntu 18.04 & Cinnamon: blank screen

Hi all,
has anyone been successful in installing Ubuntu 18.04 with Cinnamon? It
works perfectly in the server node, but in the clients the desktop is
blank except for the taskbar. New windows are opened, as I can see them
in the taskbar, but not drawn. MATE works without problem.
