I have a xubuntu 18.04 chrootless setup working fine (followed the guide no
problem)
Now I'm trying to get my Xerox C405 network printer working working on a
ltsp client (both client and server are running in Proxmox VE btw).
The printer is on 192.168.12.155 and I can ping it from both the server and
the client.
The server is 192.168.12.61. I've downloaded and installed Xerox's linux
print driver on the server no problem and that works. I'd hoped after a
image update, the client might see the same (proprietary driver) but it
doesn't.
CUPS appears to be running on the server (localhost:631) and the Xerox
printer is listed (3 times under different names?)
From the client the prop driver doesn't respond as it does on the server
(cmd: xeroxprtmgr).
Cups does appear to be available on the client (on localhost:631) here the
Xerox printer does show, but only once:
Driver: VersaLink C405
Connection: ipps://XC64ec50.local:631/ipp/print
If I try and print a test page from cups on the client the printer bings,
but nothing else.
From within any application's print dialogue on the client a printer called
'Generic Printer' is listed, but it doesn't print to the Xerox.
When I go to settings/printers in the Client I'm taken to a 'start cups'
dialogue which is listing the servers IP address. It says 'not connected' I
press the 'start service' buttton which prompts for a cups authentication
password. My sudo password for the server doesn't work on this?
that's where I'm stuck.
Nb. I haven't done anything about referencing printers in the lts.conf,
perhaps that what's missing?
TIA as ever, Mark
