ltsp-to-ram? (was: Re: Deprecating NBD in favor of squashfs-over-NFS)

Interesting.

Has anyone thought about copying the image to RAM, if there is plenty, like Grml does in its grml-to-ram feature?

Maybe one could also do that in the background and when it's done switch the lower layer of the overlay fs to it?
