We have a problem with LTSP 5 in Debian Buster: some user processes keep
running even after a user logs out:
Here's an example for the user "vma":
USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
root 674 0.0 0.1 81352 14304 ? SLs 11:45 0:00 sshd: vma
[priv]
vma 697 0.0 0.0 21156 9004 ? Ss 11:45 0:00
/lib/systemd/systemd --user
vma 718 0.0 0.0 227000 2788 ? S 11:45 0:00 (sd-pam)
vma 751 0.0 0.0 81508 6092 ? S 11:45 0:00 sshd:
vma@pts/1
vma 752 0.0 0.0 2388 700 pts/1 Ss+ 11:45 0:00 /bin/sh -
The problem seems to be related to these issues:
https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-session-manager/issues/165 (we use
XFCE)
https://github.com/canonical/lightdm/issues/45
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/8598 (not sure about this one)
Is there a quick workaround? Maybe an LTSP script that will kill these
processes when a user does logout?
Regards,
Vladimir.
