root and DNS in LTSP

Hello,
I have a couple of question about the new LTSP:
1. In LTSP5, I could connect to clients via ssh using client's root account.
But something changed in the new LTSP, how does it work now? How do I get
root privileges on the client side?
2. In LTSP5, I used a script for registering clients names in DNS (which I
executed with RCFILE in lts.conf). I guess DDNS doesn't work because clients
don't know their names when they ask DHCP server during network boot. Is
this still a thing in the new LTSP? And if I need the script I should put it
into POST_INIT in ltsp.conf, right?
