Hi I managed to reproduce you problem with another machine. It seems that the windows server needs to be become "aware" of the tomsrtbt client machine. I don't really understand why/how this is supposed to work. But if I wait for a while or telnet to the tomsrtbt client from the windows server. Then try the smbmount again it started to work. I had to create a new mount point for the share on the client as the failed one had those I/O errors and seems unusable. I get this with windows to windows file sharing alot on our network. Once a machine boots it takes a while to become available to other machines on the network and the other machines can't access it for a while. I'm guessing its the same sort of thing. Good luck Pete
