How much memory does the machine have? It requires 8MB. If you have less, you may be able to install something like slackware from floppies, setting up swapspace, etc. Tomsrtbt is more intended for rescue and recovery of semi-modern systems (it will work on a 386 with 8MB, but will boot very slowly). -Tom On Sun, 13 Apr 2003 [email protected] wrote: > Date: Sun, 13 Apr 2003 17:46:04 +0200 > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Subject: [tomsrtbt] booting from tomsrbt fails > > Hi all, > > When I boot tomsrtbt from an old i386, all goes ok until this > bzip2 Uncompressing Linux... aaa > after a while it ways > bzip2 Uncompressing Linux... aaab > and after another while it automatically reboots, is this due to very > old hardware? > > Is there an alternative?
