Thses link commands cannot be right you end up with entries like this:

lrwxrwxrwx    1 robert   robert          5 May 11 13:43 /tmp/xxx -> ./xxx

ie: a symbolic link loop.
Remember the first argument is the _literal_string_ to put in the link,
it isn't relative to the current directory but to the location of the
link.

I think you want:

ln -s /fd/smbmount /usr/bin/smbmount
ln -s /fd/smbumount /usr/bin/smbumount
ln -s /fd/smbmnt /usr/bin/smbmnt

This is saying you need three more files called:
/usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf
/usr/local/samba/lib/codepages/codepage.850
/usr/local/samba/lib/codepages/unicode_map.850

I would suggest putting them on the floppy in:
/fd/samba/lib/smb.conf
/fd/samba/lib/codepages/codepage.850
/fd/samba/lib/codepages/unicode_map.850

and doing:
mkdir -p /usr/local/samba/
ln -s /fd/samba/lib /usr/local/samba/lib

However, it appears to have continued regardless; it's problem is that
the 'doze server rejected the connection. I notice you're using 'guest'
login, I _think_ this only works with Win9X, if you're using WinNT/2K/XP
you have to specify a username and password.
Eg: -o workgroup=WORKGROUP,username=Administrator,password=

Fine the 'mount' command on TomsRTBT is too old; don't use it, use
smbmount directly.
