I THINK Toms needs 16mb.  8mb at least.  There are other distributions
that are supposed to work with as little as 4mb.  Older Slackware
versions (I think) had provision for installing with only 4mb.  There
is also something called "Tiny Linux" you might look at.  I'd be
interested in knowing the results of your efforts.  Did early versions
of Toms ever go down to 4mb?  I don't think I have seen one.  I've got
some old 486s that are running Debian 1.x in 8mb.
