Hi

I need an e1000 driver for my network card. I would like to try to build it my self. After reading the mail archive. My guess is that I have to build a new kernel with the additional driver/drivers that I need. Is that the way?

Can build drivers as modules with the new kernel and then use them with the new kernel on a secondary floppy?

Can I simply build the new kernel with my RH 9.0 or do I need to intall another compiler (libc5) to fit things on one floppy???
