Better. Way better. And more reliable.

Well, depends on how important the data is. And 20 Mb/s is quite slow for
such a setup. AND you will have quite some CPU overhead for the raid...
And you need to lookout for splitting the disks across the PCI busses. and
so on, and so on. AND you WANT 64bit PCI-X or even better pci-e.
As i said. If you want cheap, and dont care about speed, reliability etc,
then go ahead with your planned setup. Otherwise, take a look at
http://www.infortrend.com/main/2_product/a24u-g2421.asp
or maybe the iscsi versions, that would have the benefit of not having to
buy a server at all.
And thats EOD for me, who am i to stop people running towards problems :)
