This is due to the latest IDE driver provided by kernel 2.6.19.x which 
cause shifting of device names from /dev/hdx to /dev/sdx.

Work around: Boot into rescue mode and chroot into /mnt/sysimage. Change 
all references of hdx to sdx in /etc/fstab and /etc/grub.conf
