FYI. I have two NICs in my Linux box. eth0 has a static IP address and is connected to my home DSL router. This has been working flawlessly for a long time. I installed a 2nd NIC card to direct connect to the Actiontec. Its eth1 with dhcp. As soon as I brought up eth1, I could no longer surf the net out my DSL router. I manually added my nameserver to /etc/resolv.conf and that fixed the problem until I recycled eth1 again. resolv.conf was overwritten by something and my manual additions were wiped out. A little net search discovers... Added "PEERDNS=no" to the file /etc/sysconfig/network stops the dhcp client from doing this nasty. All works fine now. I'm running Mandrake 9.2. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Toolbar provides one-click access to Hotmail from any Web page FREE download! http://clk.atdmt.com/AVE/go/onm00200413ave/direct/01/ __ ActionHack Mailing List - ActionHack-W7/[email protected] http://www.express.org/mailman/listinfo/actionhack http://www.embeddedlinuxinterfacing.com/wiki.php/ActiontecDualModem
