Dear Actiontec Dual PC Modem Hackers: We've found some "ownership/permissions" problems with the lastest v1.3 uClinux source code patch at... http://www.lightner.net/ActionHack/DualPcModemGplPatch_1.3.zip Therefore, I've added two command lines to the Wiki page at... http://www.embeddedlinuxinterfacing.com/wiki.php/ActiontecGplReleaseHowto ...as follows... Applying uClinux Source Code Update to /opt/uClinux/linux/ # cd /opt/uCLinux # wget -nd http://www.lightner.net/ActionHack/DualPcModemGplPatch_1.3.zip # unzip DualPcModemGplPatch_1.3.zip # tar -zxf DualPcModemGplPatch_1.3.tar.gz # chown -R root.uClinux linux # chmod -R g+rw linux The "patched" source files are owned by user 2105, which is my personal user ID. A couple of the "patched" source files also lacked group "write" permissions for "uClinux". Therefore, you probably cannot re-build the uClinux kernel unless logged in as "root". Also, there has been a report of some kind of version conflict with the "boot loader" binary (e.g., "boot-ldr.bin"). Please stand by while we work this out. If you are experiencing problems using my "patched" binaries posted at... http://mail2.lightner.net/ActionHack/DualPcModemTftp_1.3.zip ...please let me know. I have had zero problems using these for BOOTP/TFTP-based firmware re-flashing. I'd like to get to the bottom of this. Best regards, Bruce -- Bruce D.
