What you described looks to be a bounding box calculation and may
depends on unusual system settings.

You did not wrote anything about the environment with which you are
using umbrello. To be able to analyze this issue further informations
are required, please file a bug report at
https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=umbrello .
