A question about POST

I'm testing my UPnP Toolkit against different IGDs...

I'm trying to figure out the proper format of the POST
message.

I've seen two variations and I'm wondering about the
derivation of this message....

POST /uuid:0012-171a-440b0200c9dc/WANIPConnection:1
and I've also seen:
POST /control?WANIPConnection

The question is.. these must have been derived from
the device xml somehow.. but how?
