Eric,
indeed your headers indicate that you are on a ppc:

so the mutt in ~/bin is compiled for the ppc i suppose. just out of curiosity
since i have never come close to a ppc, how difficult was the compile? i'm no
geek, but sometime back i did run into some problems trying to compile mutt
on my pIII using the --prefix=$HOME option. apart from that mutt compiled
just fine.

at present i am using knoppix-hdinstall and am still getting used to the
"apt-get" way of doing things. apart from a few kinks because of the debian
stable/unstable issues, apt-get is very very sweet for a newbie like me.
however i can now compile mutt with the --prefix=$HOME option.
