One last annoyance for you.

While a lot of hardware may work under Linux these days, a good mouse is
harder to find than a few years ago. After visiting half a dozen shops
I finally found a Logitech Pilot mouse, but they told me the manufacturer
no longer produces the model. 

(a Mac mouse has one button, a Microsoft mouse has two buttons, a Unix
mouse has three buttons, a modern Microsoft mouse has two buttons and a
little wheel).
