Re: mice

The lettering on the wheelmouse I use at work is partially worn off.  I
suppose that I could rub it off on purpose if I wanted to.  However, it
doesn't bother me.

OT:  I don't hate microsoft, I just hate the poor quality operating
systems that they ship.  Trying to write network apps in windows is the
most annoying thing I know (involving computers).  Some functions don't
appear to even do anything, although they return a successful status
message, others mostly work.  I develop on Linux, then port to Windows
if needed there.  Once you know the app is correct, then it's much
easier to port to windows.  Designing a protocol is really annoying when
you are using an OS that may or may not do what is requested of it via
system calls, so windows is pretty much useless in this environment.  It
is also true that if you don't understand something in Linux, you can
always look at the source and figure out what it is doing.  With
windows, all you can do is to pay microsoft hundreds of dollars to
report a bug with no assurance that they will even look at it...
