I've been bugging the Samba mailing list, Linux User Groups, everyone I k=
now
who has some Linux knowledge for 14 months now(!!!), but still *nobody*,
especially the Samba folks themselves were not able to help me with this:

I am from germany and there's some special characters in german lang,
[=F6=E4=FC=D6=C4=DC=DF]
What I am trying to do is setup Samba so these special chars are properly
displayed in Linux *and* Windows.
I am archieving only one at a time: either they are garbled in Linux or i=
n
Windows (chars replaced by ? or :x81 or d201: or similar nonsense)

Tried Samba 2.2.8a, 3.0.0, 3.0.1, no luck.

Takes 5 Minutes to satisfy all in Windows with no fumbling in codepage or
iocharset settings at all.
If this isn't solved in the next few weeks, the server will be going back=
 to
Windows again, I'm thru with this crap.
