Referring to the cut/copy & paste behaviour of Linux, with all due respect, it doesn't help to reply that: "This is not cut/copy/paste. It works differently from Ctrl+XVC and is completely separate from it. It really annoys me when people advertize this as cut&paste." Nor does it help to say please read the manual or any other geek Linux replies. As you can see from the number of messages on this topic (which run in two threads), this is a real annoyance, and ought not to be bullied under the carpet with any "RTFM" attitude, or "Read the Technical Explanation" attitude . This is one of the stupidest everyday Linux desktop defects, and one that would go a long way to encouraging Linux acceptance if it were fixed. What's really annoying is that Linux developers are being paid (yes, we're paying them big-time - they're not working for free) to create this stuff, and it's really buggy and sloppy. -- Reilly Burke
