-- huh? that long? you only have to kill the blast.exe process and delete it
from the
drive -- that's it. install the patch, don't install the patch (activate the
firewall though) --

-- maybe because those programs came as a "packaged" thingie. SuSe *had* to
test each
and every one of those apps (making sure they'd coexist) before releasing
that cdrom. try
installing php tars with ldap, mcrypt, mhash and a whole host of extensions
that seem to
believe the world revolves around them -- the word "hell" in dependency hell
will become clearer. :)

but still, dependency hell hasn't driven me away from linux. i still think
it's the best development
platform out there.
