Its a concern everyday for popular websites.  When you pay for the bandwidth 
you consume then you monitor it.  

When your a home user with a fast line, then you're right.

T1 at work.  Cable modem at home.

I'm not saying everyone should be forced to do it by hand.  I'm saying that you
get better results by either coding it by hand or by massaging the code generated
by the tools.

Actually, latex gives me the right amount of control.

When did this get personal?  I thought we were just discussing the relative 
merits of machine generated vs human generated mark-up languages.
