Since you are under Windows, it might be a Cygwin thing, but it could also be because you have the middle button (wheel) set to some other function that middle button in the Intellimouse software. There should be a way to set it to simply middle button, which will make it function as the middle button for the few Windows apps that can use it and, hopefully, for Cygwin apps as well. -Isaac Hummel
