Annoyed at vendors saying supported by Linux-and not listing the little details. Here is one from this week. IBM server with a ServeRAID 6M card (Adaptec controller chip) everything says supported in Linux. When trying to Install from the Red hat 9.0 CD I find that the drivers are not included and that I cannot install as I can't see the Hard Disk. IBM is kind enough to give me the source code but it is only for the 2.4.20 Kernel. Usually this would not be too bad-but then I find that the customer wants this for Red Hat Advance Server 2.1 (a 2.4.9 kernel). In fact the Only Linux install that picks up the ServeRAID 6M card by default is SuSE 8.2 (out of the few I have tried). Dave Blomberg
