Yes, do protect me from other users please.
And if you don't trust me (which is understandable since you
don't really know me) then by all means protect *other* users
from *me*.

But as for protecting *me* from *myself*, please do *that*
only if you can find a way to do that *without* crippling
me.

Frankly, the only protection that I *really* need from *myself*
is as follows: If somehow (and this hasn't happened yet) I
screw up my account, I'd like to be able to ask my sys-admin
to hit a reset-button for my account: causing my account to
revert to how it was the day it was first created. I can even
make it my own responsibility to back up my own data in case
I ever have to ask the sys-admin to do this.

And to be honest, I seriously doubt locking up the /home
FS will make it any easier to do what I just described.
