I said 'Unix', not 'GUI'. Apple is even more extreme than KDE and GNOME. 
Try to consider them as a kind of pseudo-OS like Windows 3.1 that runs
on top of the real OS (like DOS or Unix). The latter-day GUIs create a
kind of virtual reality that hides the real OS from the user, leaving
him/her helpless.
