Hmm, I see what you mean.

Generally people do this because they know their email address will 
appear "as-is" on some web pages this way and they're sick and tired of 
spammers running programs which search web pages for email address and 
then spam them.

Having the "nospam" (or varients of) in the email address means that it 
generally takes A Real Person to look at it and fix it, which they kind 
of hope means it won't be a spammer.

Not idea how well the approach works, though.  :)
