We've had a significant discussion about Novell and Red Hat over the 
last day and a half concerning the various events that have occurred.

Linux has a strong foothold in schools, state, federal and local 
governments. I provided my views about Novell. My experience has been 
positive and I have stated that at this url:

Marilyn has concerns about finding a desktop that provides for her 
requirements. Here's a quote from her:

First, how is the desktop taking shape and will she see these things 
working?


Secondly, people have worries about Linux leaving the consumer arena 
because of some comments by Red Hat's CEO Matthew. I know you were 
instrumental in Novell's decision to buy a Linux distribution. Will the 
consumer suffer as a result of this acquisition?


You okay'd the purchase of Ximian, you must have liked what you saw at 
Novell. Any insights?


You did a lot of work on Sun's desktop. Now that Ximian and SuSE are 
part of Novell, how will that effect Sun's desktop?


We don't hear from you often enough. How are you doing? Will you be at
