This was forwarded around on the Ottawa Canada Linux List.

The showcase is scheduled for the Ottawa area, but some of your North-western folks may want to ask for more info. Look like another case where they are expecting folks to come out and market their products. (some of the folks in the Government would like the focus of these things to stop being "vendors") I know that some on the SLL are commercial entities who might wish to contact the nice folks. The phone numbers given would be in the 819 area code.

Greetings,

Following the requests from the GOL community and Federal Consultation
Network, the Telecommunications and Informatics Program of Public Works
and Government Services Canada is organizing a showcase week on online
consultation and feedback tools, September 8 - 11, 2003. This is in
conjunction with the release of a Technology Brief "On-Line
Consultation Technologies" which outlines the most recent trends in the
Government of Canada.

The purpose of this showcase is to inform the practitioners, and the
technology teams that enable these online activities, on how these tools
work and how they are applied to specific activities. The showcase will
be based on the technologies that were indicated as the most common
within our survey.

This letter is to invite you to attend this showcase event. During this
week, vendors will describe how their tools support the main
functionalities identified as the "most needed" by respondents to a
survey conducted in preparation for the "On-Line Consultation
Technologies" report. Following that, various departmental
representatives will describe their experiences with these tools.

This event will take place in the Innovatec Showcase in Place du
Portage. A tentative agenda has been included for your information.
For more information, you can contact Jennifer Hefler at 956-8901.
Please confirm your attendance with Chris Fraser at 956-0013.
